Emanuel is currently working on his thesis project, exploring emerging techniques such as multi-view learning and dynamic neural networks for object detection. He earned his Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnologico de Monterrey. He conducted research under the supervision of Rita Q. Fuentes Aguilar, focusing on the classification of fundus images by diabetic retinopathy severity using machine learning models, with an emphasis on the macula as the region of interest. He also contributed to the development of an NIR-VIS berry database, including image acquisition and processing for annotation and validation. Previously, he worked in the automotive industry at Robert Bosch and Continental AG. He is a co-founder of MADLAB (Manufacturing and Design Laboratory).
